El 26 de febrero un jurado popular había considerado culpable a Jorge Martínez
La jueza de Paraná María Carolina Castagno le impuso la pena de prisión perpetua a Jorge Martínez, el hombre al que un jurado popular declaró «culpable» del femicidio de su expareja, Fátima Acevedo, quien fue estrangulada y arrojada a un aljibe tras denunciarlo en seis ocasiones por violencia de género y luego de buscar refugio en la Casa de la Mujer de la capital entrerriana en marzo de 2020.
La única posible para los delitos que se le atribuyen a Martínez (35), fue dictada tras el veredicto de culpabilidad del jurado popular, el 26 de febrero pasado.
Durante el juicio, el hombre fue considerado autor de los delitos de «defraudación especial, lesiones graves en grado de tentativa y homicidio agravados por el vínculo y el contexto de violencia de género» contra Fátima (25), con quien tenía un hijo.
En su alegato, el fiscal Leandro Dato dijo que Fátima padeció «una relación signada por la violencia de género psicológica, física y económica» y remarcó que Martínez tenía «una relación de desprecio a la mujer y desde la mirada de un psicópata»; mientras que la joven «tenía sueños, quería trabajar, estudiar y alquilar una vivienda para escapar de él».
La fiscalía reseñó en esa oportunidad que el primer delito que se le atribuyó al hombre fue cometido el 4 de febrero del 2020, cuando Fátima denunció por haberla amenazado e intentado arrojarle ácido muriático.
A partir de allí la joven pidió ayuda para dejar de vivir con él y recuperar sus pertenencias, tarjetas de cobro y medicamentos y hasta tuvo un botón antipánico y se aplicaron medidas de restricción.
Pero el 1 de marzo del 2020, la joven fue estrangulada y arrojada a un aljibe por Martínez, quien luego se apoderó de su celular y comenzó a auto enviarse mensajes haciéndose pasar por ella para desviar la investigación. El cuerpo de Fátima fue hallado el 8 de marzo dentro de un pozo de 18 metros de profundidad, en una zona descampada de Paraná y a pocos metros de la vivienda de Martínez.
De acuerdo a la autopsia, la joven presentaba tres lesiones, un corte en el mentón de cuatro centímetros, producto de un golpe que había recibido antes de su muerte, hemorragias y hematomas propios de un ahorcamiento.
La querella adhirió a todos los pedidos realizados por la fiscalía contra el acusado, mientras que la defensa planteó que existían dudas sobre su culpabilidad, no obstante lo cual los 12 jurados populares llegaron a un veredicto unánime de culpabilidad.
